Users

The website https://e-me4all.eu/ hosts the European edition of the e-me Digital Educational Platform, known as “e-me European”. This version is multilingual, open to all, and available to a wide audience, including educators, students, parents, academics, institutions, and anyone interested in Europe or internationally.

In the European edition of e-me, anyone can create an account through a simple registration process. For this reason, users of the “e-me, European Edition” service are urged to exercise caution in the following situations:

  • When accepting friend requests from other users, especially those they do not personally know.
  • When accepting requests from other users to participate in Hives they manage.
  • During communication with other users (via personal messages, posts/comments in Hives, etc.).
  • If any user requests their personal information (full name, email, password, etc.).
  • When posting content, especially when sharing files, whether in their own file space or within a Hive.

Each user is permitted a single login account for the above service. Login credentials (i.e., username and password) must not be shared with third parties.

Legal Use

The use of the "e-me, European Edition" service must be exclusively for lawful purposes, in strict adherence to the terms outlined herein. Each user must refrain from engaging in actions or omissions that could disrupt its operation and negatively impact or jeopardize the provision of services to fellow users.

Users are expected to abstain from publishing material (text, images, photos, videos, wall posts, comments, etc.) that may be deemed illegal, threatening, harmful, slanderous, insulting, defamatory, offensive, pornographic, blasphemous, annoying, vulgar, or indecent. Users should also avoid posting any content that could constitute or encourage illegal or criminal behavior, violate the privacy of others, express racial, ethnic, or other forms of discrimination.

If users encounter such objectionable material, they are urged to promptly notify the administrators of the "e-me, European Edition" service. Administrators will then take requisite measures, including the removal of the offending content and the suspension of the user's account responsible for its posting.

Furthermore, in cases where user behavior or actions are reported by other users or come to the attention of administrators, and such behavior or actions contravene the rules governing the proper use of the "e-me, European Edition" service (e.g., engaging in threatening or offensive behavior towards other users, attempting deception, misusing storage space, creating fraudulent accounts, etc.), the user's account will be deactivated, and the posted material will be deleted without prior notice.

Terms for proper use of student Hives on "e-me, European Edition"

Each student is required to accept the following terms of use when creating a Hive within the "e-me, European Edition":

  • I have informed my parent/guardian or a school educator about the Hive I am creating.
  • The title and description of my Hive do not contain inappropriate, unsuitable, or offensive words.
  • I will not send invitations to join my Hive to individuals I do not know personally.
  • If I wish to send invitations to individuals I do not know personally, I will first consider whether the invitation may bother them. If in doubt, I will seek the consent of my parent/guardian or a school educator.
  • I will respect other members! I will not share on the Hive’s wall or in the Hive’s shared files any photos or videos with inappropriate or offensive content.
  • I am responsible for the Hive I create! Therefore:
    • I will regularly check the Hive’s shared files, wall posts, and comments for any offensive or inappropriate content.
    • If I come across posts or comments with offensive content, I will delete them immediately or politely request the member who made the post or comment to delete it.
    • If a member consistently offends other members, I will remove them, delete the material they uploaded to the Hive’s shared files, and delete comments from the Hive’s wall.
  • I will convey these rules of good behavior to the Hive members to ensure mutual respect.
  • I understand that if I fail to comply with one or more of the above rules or if my behavior offends other members, the service administrators may, after informing me first, deactivate my Hive, thereby denying me access.

What is e-me?

Digital Educational Platform e-me is a collaborative, social and extendable Digital Educational Platform, a digital working and collaboration space for pupils and teachers.

e-me is a personal learning environment which supports:

  • display of work via collaborative and personal blogs,
  • use of open educational resources from digital repositories,
  • while it further provides digital “tools” to support teaching and learning.

e-me was initiated in Greece. It was designed and developed by “CTI DIOPHANTUS", the technical body of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs (MoE). e-me is one of the two official platforms that is provided by the Greek Ministry of Education to all schools, teachers and pupils in Greece, as a national asynchronous learning platform.

In Greece, e-me is available in two installations (editions): the official e-me (e-me.edu.gr), which is a closed system provided only to teachers and pupils with the use of their school accounts, and "e-me for all" edition (4all.e-me.edu.gr), which is open and free to everyone via registration.

The current installation of e-me (e-me4all.eu) is the European edition of "e-me for all".

European edition of "e-me" is open and free to anyone interested in Europe, schools, teachers, pupils, parents, academics, institutions, etc.

It was customized in the context of the PAFSE project (PArtnerships For Science Education).

News & Announcements

16/04/2024
  • e-me has been upgraded to version 3.3!

The new version 3.3 of e-me has been enriched with new apps and extensions that significantly expand the capabilities of the platform.

Specifically, the following new apps have been developed and added to e-me:

    • e-me Lessons, a dynamic tool for creating and managing digital lessons, divided into sections of educational content, following the simple and familiar approach of a structured blog.
    • e-me appository, a repository of interactive educational apps, with 50 apps so far, derived from the appropriate adaptation of selected learning objects from the repository "Photodentro Learning Objects", covering all school grades and various subjects.
    • e-me Forums, a digital area, which enables you to create online forums related to one or more topics within e-me hives. Each forum contains multiple conversations. Each conversation starts with an initial message outlining the specific topic, followed by various responses and viewpoints (discussion thread).
    • e-me LAMS, the renowned Learning Activity Management System (LAMS), has been integrated into e-me, allowing you to create sequences of learning activities and compose them into lesson plans visually, in the form of flowcharts. You can assign the lesson plans to members of your hive to implement them individually or collaboratively, depending on the nature of the activities involved, and monitor their progress, providing constructive feedback.

Moreover, several new features have been integrated into e-me:

    • Favorite hives: By selecting the "heart" icon, you can designate your favorite hives, which will appear at the top of your hive list, prioritizing those you consider most important or frequently used.
    • Hive Cloning: You can create copies (clones) of your hives, selecting the elements you wish to duplicate. Ideal for creating multiple hives with common features and similar posts.
    • Post arrangement on hive wall: By using the arrows next to each post on your hive wall, you can determine the position of the posts, both yours and those of other hive members. Customize the ideal flow of information, adjusting it to your educational needs and goals.
    • Contact filtering: Filtering buttons have been added to your contact list, allowing you to categorize your contacts according to their role (students or teachers).
    • Bulk contact deletion: For enhanced flexibility in managing your contacts, you now have the option to delete multiple members at once.

We hope the new apps and extensions on e-me will greatly benefit you and we look forward to your suggestions for further improvements!

  • e-me has been upgraded to version 3.2!

The new version 3.2 of e-me incorporates a new hive app, as well as improvements and extensions to the functionality of the platform!

    Specifically:

    1. A new app, "e-me Library", has been developed and added to e-me.

"e-me Library" is a hive app for storing and organizing reference material (e.g. books, study guides, course documents, multimedia reference materials, etc.) and making it available (read-only) to its members. The Hive Admin and Helpers are the ones eligible to post, edit, delete and organize the material.

    2. The hive wall now supports:

    • - "Likes" on posts and comments. Thus, you can express your appreciation to a post or comment by clicking/tapping on the "heart".
    • - copying and pasting posts to other hive walls, so you can easily share posts (repost) from one hive wall to another.
    • - drafts of posts or comments, ensuring that your content is temporarily saved and retrievable even if you leave the hive wall before publishing it.
    • - limited "pinned" posts, leading to improved performance (loading without delay)

    3. The "e-me assignment app" now supports:

    • - advance time-scheduling options, allowing you to define when the description of an assignment will become visible to students. You can now hide your exam questions until the day and time of the exam.

    4. The "e-me content app" now supports:

    • - additional types of interactive learning resources (Structure Strip, AR Scavenger, Cornell Notes, Information Wall) offering a wider range of options for digital educational content development.

    5. The landing and infographic pages currently offer improved presentation of information.

We hope that these improvements and additions will facilitate your educational work, and we look forward to receiving your comments and insights for future versions of e-me!
